Background Check Documents

This guide is for Tenth Staff members who process background check documents. If you are looking to complete your background check, please follow the instructions here.

There are four possible documents required for background checks:

FBI Fingerprinting Affidavit - Available for volunteers only (not employees), this is an Adobe Sign document completed online. Completed documents are filed automatically and do not need to be uploaded.
FBI Fingerprinting Certificate - This is sent from DHS and the document is distinctive in having checkboxes saying that the person is either eligible or not.
PATCH - This is send through Protect My Ministry and will almost always appear in their report. This is probably the least-friction document because it happens automatically with a PMM background check.
CAHC - This is the document that requires a significant form submission through COMPASS, the state portal. This document should have a paragraph that says no record exists. It comes from DHS.
